I. Program Overview

To strengthen academic collaboration and foster mutual scholarly exchange between Chinese and international youth, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) has launched the 2026 Short-Term Research Exchange Program under the Chinese Government Scholarship—officially branded as "China Link".

II. Funding Plan

1. Categories of Funding:  

 General Visiting Students: Open to undergraduate and master's degree students.    

 Senior Visiting Students: Open to doctoral candidates and academic faculty members.

2. Funding Duration: 1—12 months. The start date in China must be no later than August 31, 2027.  

3. Language of Instruction: English or Chinese.  

III. Funding Content

During their stay in China, participants will receive full scholarship coverage, including:  

Tuition fee waiver;  

On-campus accommodation subsidy;  

Comprehensive medical insurance coverage.;  

Monthly living allowance according to the Chinese Government Scholarship standards:  

  General Visiting Students: 3,000 RMB/month;  

  Senior Visiting Students: 3,500 RMB/month.  

IV. Eligibility Criteria

1. Non-Chinese nationals, in good physical and mental health, who maintain a positive disposition toward the People’s Republic of China, and with no criminal record.  

2. Age requirements:  

 General Visiting Students: under 45 years old;  

 Senior Visiting Students: under 50 years old.  

3. Candidates must be enrolled as full-time students or appointed as academic faculty members at a China Scholarship Council (CSC) partner university abroad, throughout both the application period and the duration of the program. The official list of CSC partner universities is provided in Attachment 1.  

4. Proficiency in either Chinese or English, sufficient to successfully complete academic coursework and conduct daily communication.  

V. Application Timeline

Applications are accepted year-round. Partner institutions must submit the official nomination list of recommended candidates to the International Cultural Exchange College at least three months before the candidate's intended arrival in China. Please plan accordingly.  

VI. Application Process

1. Nomination by Domestic Colleges:  

Based on the list of partner universities for the China Link program (Attachment 1) and in support of the university's internationalization strategy, each college within Hebei Normal University shall determine the list of students and scholars intending to come for research. Complete the Recommendation List (Attachment 2) and the Acceptance Letter for Visiting Scholars (Attachment 3), and submit them via email to the International Cultural Exchange College.

2. Online Application by Candidates:

After being nominated by the college, candidates must complete the scholarship application online via the CSC Study in China Management Information System:

3. Submission of Candidate List by the International Cultural Exchange College:  

After internal review and pre-admission, the International Cultural Exchange College will submit the candidate list to the China Scholarship Council.  

4. Admission Results:  

The China Scholarship Council provides monthly feedback to Chinese universities on scholarship admission results. The final admission decision is subject to notification from the CSC. The International Cultural Exchange College will forward the scholarship results to the domestic colleges.

5. Visa Procedures:

The International Cultural Exchange College will assist admitted candidates with visa procedures for entering China.
